1. Introduction
Welcome to Nova Security! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Nova Security mobile application (the “App”). By using this App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the App. These Terms apply together with the Nova Security Privacy Policy.
2. Purpose of the App
Nova Security is a mobile application that helps you protect your phone, your network, and your digital identity. The App enables you to:
- Scan Wi‑Fi networks for weak encryption, open access points, and other risks
- Run a real‑time threat shield that warns about malicious URLs and phishing pages
- Check whether your email or accounts appear in known data breaches
- Inspect QR codes before opening their destination
- Receive instant alerts and recommended actions when a risk is detected
The core purpose is to give everyday users a simple, professional mobile security suite that runs quietly in the background.
3. User registration and privacy
Nova may require users to create an account, and account‑linked data is stored on secure cloud‑based servers. All data entered by users is tied to the user’s account; only the user has access to their own data. Users are subject to the Nova Privacy Policy regarding the processing and storage of their data.
4. User responsibilities
You are responsible for the data you provide to Nova (for example, the email address you submit to the breach‑check feature) and for ensuring that you have the right to submit any such information. You must not use the App for any unlawful purpose, must not attempt to interfere with the operation of the App, and must not abuse the threat database or the QR scanner to test, distribute, or share malicious content.
5. Subscriptions and pricing
Free version
The free version of Nova Security includes:
- A limited number of daily scans
- Access to core threat detection
- Standard support
Premium plans
A premium subscription unlocks the full Nova suite:
- Unlimited Wi‑Fi and threat scans
- Advanced breach‑monitoring alerts
- Premium threat models and priority processing
- Priority support
Pricing
Subscription plans (USD):
- Weekly — $5.00 / week
- Monthly — $10.00 / month
- Yearly — $50.00 / year
- Discounted Yearly (limited‑time, in‑app) — $35.00 / year for eligible new users
Prices may vary by region based on store conversion and local taxes. The exact price you pay is displayed inside the App before you confirm purchase.
Billing and cancellation
- All purchases are managed through Apple’s App Store or the Google Play Store.
- Payment will be charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Account Settings on the App Store or Google Play.
6. Third‑party services
The App integrates with third‑party services to deliver its functionality:
- Firebase (Google) for authentication, cloud functions, analytics, crash reporting, and remote configuration.
- RevenueCat for subscription management.
- Threat intelligence providers for the threat shield and QR scanner.
- Breach databases for the data breach lookup feature, queried using hashed inputs.
7. Data storage and account termination
Account‑linked data is stored on secure cloud‑based servers and linked to your account. You can manage and delete your data by signing into your account in the App. Upon account termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Limitation of liability
Nova Security is provided “as is” without any warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied. While we strive to ensure the App operates without error and detects threats accurately, Nova is not liable for any data loss, false positive, false negative, or other issue resulting from software bugs, hardware failures, third‑party service outages, or other circumstances. No security product can offer 100% protection, and you are encouraged to maintain good security practices regardless of the App’s status.
9. Intellectual property
The name “Nova”, “Nova Security”, and all associated logos and materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use these names or any related branding in connection with your own products or services without our prior written consent. Nova retains rights to use anonymized data for service improvement.
10. Updates to these Terms
These Terms of Service may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated to you, where required, through the App or by email.
